Bruce has been with Irwin Marine for more than thirty-five years. He began his Irwin experience spending weekends as a youth on his family’s boat at our docks. Bruce is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He is married with two children.

My passion for boating began in the early 1970’s when my parents relocated our family from Massachusetts to New Hampshire. I spent summers water skiing on Crystal Lake and winters snowmobiling all around the Lakes Region. My boating career began in the mid-1980’s in Alton Bay. I came to work for Irwin Marine in 1992 when they took over management of Mountain View Yacht Club. My job was to assist customers with various boating needs, coordinate maintenance projects, rent and sell boat slips. After a number of years at MVYC, I transferred to Irwin’s main location in Laconia, where I currently assist the general manager with various projects while continuing to rent and sell boat slips at MVYC and other Yacht/Boat Clubs. I could not ask for a better job or a better company for which to work!
Kathy began working for Irwin Marine in 1986 as a bookkeeper and was promoted to Office Manager in 1998. She has a history of dedication to Irwin Marine and we value her years of service.
Kathy may work behind the scenes but she still is an integral part of our commitment to make boat ownership enjoyable for you!

I have worked at Irwin Marine since childhood, at first picking up trash and eventually becoming a yard hand. As a youngster, I tagged along, “helping” our mechanics. I remember repeated admonishments for playing in the boats when I was supposed to be cleaning. I was euphoric any time the mechanics needed me to drive boats as they made adjustments! During high school I worked summers, weekends, and after school washing boats and doing maintenance.
Subsequently, I left the area to earn my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Education at Syracuse University. My first professional job was teaching middle school art. Later, in the early 1980s, the family business again caught my eye; so I returned as office manager. I am now the Comptroller and Vice President of Irwin Marine and General Manager of the Alton Bay store.
At college, I saw wheelchair basketball for the first time and became a founding member of the Syracuse Flyers Wheelchair Basketball team. That passion for sports-participation among people with disabilities lead to my present day work teaching Alpine Skiing at Gunstock and Loon Mountains. Extensive, continued volunteer work with numerous civic organizations proudly earned me New Hampshire’s 1993 Outstanding Volunteer Award presented by Governor Merrill.
I am an active member of New England Marine Trade Association and President of New Hampshire Marine Trades Association.
Service Manager - Laconia
I grew up in Lakeport on Lake Opechee. My parents had a Grady White with a Mercruiser 165hp in line 6 cylinder with a stern drive. I always loved tinkering on the boat with my Dad. Every spring we would get excited waiting for Irwin Marine to pick up the boat and get it ready for the season. I was hired at Irwin Marine on March 31, 1988 by the service manager at the time Bruce Wright. My first position was a detailer washing and cleaning boats. I knew detailing was an entry level start in the boat business. I quickly learned the ropes and was moved into the yard. I learned to efficiently run the Travel Lift, Forklift and all the equipment the yard had to offer. I was then moved on to the technical side. I went to school at the NH Tech College in Laconia and earned a Certificate in the Marine Engines Class. Before I knew it I was rebuilding engines and stern drives. I was sent to a number factory training centers to enhance my knowledge. I really enjoyed the challenge of beating the flat rate hours on any job I was given. Not long after that I began having an interest in coordinating the service office. I found the chaos of the office in the peak season very fascinating. I then moved into an Assistant Service Managers position. I was sent to Sea Ray in Knoxville, Tennessee and Spader Business Management Schools in South Dakota. I learned as much as possible about the Products we sell and how to effectively manage the Service Department. I have now been the Service Manager since 1996. I am very grateful to Irwin Marine for giving me this opportunity. The Irwin family has been very good to work for. They really care for the employees. My favorite part of what I do is solving problems. I have been here over 27 years and every day is a new challenge. I take pride in knowing that the customers we serve are treated with honesty and respect. I do my best make our customers feel like part of the family. I have been married for over 20 years and have two children. I really look forward to winter vacations in the warm climate with my wife and family. Life on the water. What else can I say? It’s the best place to be.
Service/Sales Coordinator - Laconia
I started detailing boats for Irwin’s as a summer job, fresh out of college, in 1994. By that fall, it turned into a full time position. I have worked in just about every aspect of the marina- detailing, the yard, the fiberglass shop and rigging the new boats. In 2004 I helped to create a new sign shop to better serve our customers and add to our dynamic service department.
In 2011 I moved into the Sales/Service Coordinator position- after years of prepping the boats I felt I knew what was expected and I strive to meet those expectations.

Parts Manager - Laconia
I have been lucky enough to have grown up on the Big Lake. At 15 my first job was pumping gas here at Irwin’s in Laconia. I really enjoy working on the water, helping people enjoy an activity I have enjoyed my whole life. Happy Boating!

Tom has been with Irwin Marine for five years, but has been in the Boating and Snowmobiling industries for 19 years. He graduated locally from Laconia Tech in the Marine Program and also taught there for a short while before pursuing his career.
